Scott + Reid is excited to announce the addition of Larry Howard to our team....
Scott + Reid was selected to build an entertainment destination near Valley Ranch in Irving. The venue features a full-service restaurant, full bar, private dining area, multiple areas for hosting groups, and a private event space with private bowling lanes. The facility also includes 28 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, laser tag arena, bumper cars, rock climbing wall, and a high-ropes course suspended 20 feet above a video game area.
Coordination and scheduling were critical to the successful completion of the project. The biggest challenge the project team faced was needing to complete the building shell and 15,000-square-feet of interior space in 3 months (and 4 months before opening) to allow Brunswick to complete all bowling lanes in time for the opening. Hard dates for additional specialty vendors, including those for bumper cars, laser tag, ropes course and the climbing wall, also drove the schedule.
Additional project challenges included personnel changes within the architectural design team, coordination of 10 vendors outside of the Scott + Reid project scope and loss of permanent power 3 weeks before opening, requiring two back-up generators to ensure wood on the bowling lanes would not be ruined in the summer heat.
Regardless of the setbacks faced, Scott + Reid delivered this project one month prior than contractually obligated, enabling the client to increase business with a mid-summer opening. Scott + Reid was concurrently awarded building a similar facility for Pinstack in Allen.
