Today we are introducing you to another one of our Houston team members, Selene Rodriguez. Selene joined Scott + Reid as...Read More
Scott + Reid was engaged by Berkeley Research Group, LLC (BRG), a global consulting firm, to complete the interior finish-out of their new 6,600-square-foot lease space for their relocation to the recently developed Fourteen5 office complex in Dallas, Texas.
This project ran concurrently with a different general contractor build-out directly above this client’s space. The furniture feeds, floor cores and conduit runs required by the third floor lease space necessitated the other general contractor access our work area. The Scott + Reid team worked in tangent with them, ensuring everything was installed intentionally to preserve a clean look within the open ceiling concept. Maintaining open communication was also important when it was time for the deck to be painted and the Tectum panels to be installed to avoid the need for rework.
The training room and board room presented additional challenges for the project team. Extensive coordination was essential with the client-contracted audio/visual vendors to ensure speakers, microphones and lighting were all properly configured prior to the Rulon wood plank system installation. All items above this ceiling feature had to be precisely measured and roughed-in to guarantee everything aligned properly in the end.
A significant design feature is the incorporation of BRG’s signature blue throughout the space. A focal wall, comprised of a dark blue finish and wood slats, creates an inviting tone to the reception area. In addition, the open deck ceiling was painted the same blue hue, blending the exposed piping and ceiling together. Additional design highlights include custom white aluminum and glass office fronts, diamond polished concrete, and specialty lighting.
