“J.C. Penney corporate employees in Plano on Friday started their day paying respects to a larger than life statue...
Ethos Group, a leading expert in the retail automotive sales training industry, selected Scott + Reid for the first-generation finish-out of 120,000 square feet, spanning four floors inside the tower of the Toyota Music Factory. The Music Factory is a multi-faceted venue surrounded by retail shops, over twenty new restaurants and an entertainment pavilion with an 8,000-person capacity. Scott + Reid faced many challenges, including the logistics of working around the base building contractor still in the throes of completing the tower and numerous surrounding projects within the complex.
A monumental staircase was constructed between the levels and doubles as a functional seating area. Constructed with metal framing and light weight concrete, a stunning wood floor covering, and steel string design handrails seamlessly tie the three floors together.
Two crated cars were craned into the seventh floor during the beginning stages of the project, which provided a challenge to work around, but also added to the excitement for the unveiling of the impeccable car experience showroom. The spacious training room is easily and swiftly separated or reconfigured with forty-foot-wide Skyfold partitions that fold vertically into the ceiling. With the push of a button, smaller and/or larger spaces are effortlessly created.
Other design highlights include twenty-foot high ceilings with specialty lighting and diamond polished concrete flooring, creating an inviting and aesthetically pleasing space for client interaction. Each level of the suite was creatively designed with raised access flooring, allowing for power and technology pathways throughout. A fully functional kitchen and food service line, equipped with high-end commercial appliances, added an additional layer of complexity to the project.
