Maverick Capital, a global investment adviser managing private investment funds, chose Scott + Reid for the relocation of their headquarters to the new 1900 Pearl Tower located in the Arts District of Dallas, Texas. The 22,285-square-foot, first-generation space showcases expansive views of Downtown Dallas throughout their private offices, conference rooms, collaboration areas, and large work café.
Scott + Reid faced multiple challenges during the project, including installation of the Teknion glass front walls and sliding door systems. Long lead times coupled with several design modifications during the build-out process required constant communication and coordination with the architect and furniture vendor to accommodate the changes while maintaining the schedule. In addition, incorporation of high-end video conferencing equipment in several areas necessitated extensive collaboration with the A/V vendor during installation to ensure the desired design aesthetic was achieved.
Tasked with managing the logistics of operating around two other general contractors within the building, the project team worked with the contractors’ representatives to allocate dock space and use of the service elevator. In the end, all obstacles were overcome, meeting the stringent deadlines and delivering the innovative, high-end workspace envisioned by the client.
