This high-end international furniture dealer selected Scott + Reid to build out their Dallas showroom. Known for their innovative take on modern work spaces, Teknion’s relocation to KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts reflects their vision for the future and is a tangible example of emerging trends in workplace furniture.
The suite was intentionally designed to display their product in a modern, captivating space. Taking advantage of large exterior windows, the entire lease features floor to ceiling exposure and views of downtown Dallas. Natural wood flooring and sealed concrete flooring coordinate with meticulously smooth walls built to the highest degree of finish. Numerous offices were built out of the client’s demountable wall systems, requiring exact dimensions of surrounding finishes to ensure a seamless, built-in look.
Communication and use of daily reports were essential to keeping the project on track, as many team members, including the architect and client’s project manager, were located out of state. In addition, the project is under review for LEED Platinum Certification and WELL Building Standard Certification. To achieve these certifications, separate consultants were intimately involved throughout the design and construction of the showroom and all materials carefully specified to meet certification standards.
In addition to private offices, the space features displays of sitting and lounge areas, conference rooms, a fabric/finish center, and various collaboration surfaces. A kitchen and break area doubles as a showcase of the client’s product and the wine produced in the owner’s winery, Stratus Vineyard. The finished product achieves Teknion’s desire to showcase multiple product lines in a cohesive way.
