Texas Armament & Technology, a rapidly growing tactical product and training company, appointed Scott + Reid to complete the interior finish-out of their company headquarters. The 7,107-square-foot, first-generation space is positioned in a class-A office building located at Kirby Collection, a multi-use complex for residential, retail, and office space in Houston, Texas.
Distinctive design features abound upon entering this space. From behind the custom reception desk, a granite feature wall with radiant blue hues sets the modern tone of the space. Additional use of vibrant color palettes are incorporated throughout the suite to add interest to the intentional use of neutral tones. Other notable elements include natural stone topped tables, unique light fixtures, varying ceiling treatments, banquette seating, custom walnut cabinetry and floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing this client unobstructed views of the city.
The multi-faceted space is comprised of a lobby, private and flexible workspaces, huddle and conference rooms, a large boardroom, and an open break area. The break area includes a rotating pantry with slate panels, bench style seating, and a large island with a porcelain top and book match waterfall edges. An adjoining executive wing provides an administrative lobby, private offices, executive conference room and private restrooms.
A unique component of this project is the black dHive glazing system with walnut doors and side glass paneling utilized on all office and conference room fronts. Scott + Reid held extensive coordination meetings with the associated subcontractors to ensure the door systems were delivered and installed without issue. Field modifications were also required to HVAC and plumbing supply lines due to conflicts between design and existing conditions. In both instances, Scott + Reid was able to develop creative solutions without incurring additional cost or sacrificing design intent.
In order to minimize disruption to the surrounding tenants, the project team adjusted their schedule to begin all discordant work prior to normal business hours. Collaborating closely with Texas Armament’s project management team, Scott + Reid provided their services from pre-design through construction to meet the project schedule and ensure the modern vision for this new company’s headquarters were brought to fruition.
