Founded in 1992, Scott + Reid has grown from a team of three into one of the largest privately owned commercial general contractors in Texas, with offices in Dallas and Houston and projects across the U.S. While the scale of our work has expanded, our principles have remained the same. Today, our ownership team stays actively involved in the day-to-day work, providing hands-on leadership and setting the tone for how we show up for our clients, partners, and teams. COMPANY HISTORY

1992-2000: The Foundation Years

In 1992, Chris Scott and Brad Reid founded Scott + Reid with a bold idea: to build a company that prioritized quality construction and personal relationships in equal measure. Working out of a small, shared office with just three employees, they set a standard of integrity and service that still guides the company today.

As demand grew, so did their ambition. In 2000, Scott + Reid launched its Ground-Up Construction Division, expanding its capabilities and entering a new chapter of growth.

2001-2010: Growth Through Opportunity

The early 2000s brought major opportunities and milestones. The team completed its first signature project—a multi-floor corporate headquarters—that demonstrated Scott + Reid’s ability to deliver large, complex spaces with the same care and attention they brought to every job.

2011-2020: Building Momentum

In 2011, Scott + Reid opened a Houston office to better serve clients in South Texas. The expansion allowed the firm to form deeper relationships in a new market while staying true to its founding principles.

With a growing reputation for excellence, Scott + Reid expanded into new sectors—retail showrooms, healthcare facilities, hospitality, and industrial warehouse spaces—serving both privately held companies and some of the biggest names on the Fortune 500 list.

2021-today: A New Era of Leadership and Legacy

As the company celebrated 30 years in business, Scott + Reid reached a meaningful milestone: five long-tenured leaders were named as Principals. Alvin Cozby, Derico Lewis, Eric Gilbert, John Robison Jr., and Phillip Vanderhill—all of whom helped shape the company’s growth—joined the ownership team, signaling a commitment to long-term stability and employee-driven leadership.
