Following successful completion of six other build-outs in various cities, TBK Bank partnered again with Scott + Reid for construction of a flagship branch in Preston Center, a high-end retail area in Dallas, Texas. This facility weaves technology, luxury, and unparalleled amenities in an upscale, private space that extends beyond a typical bank branch.

Project kick-off started with demolition of the previous one-story bank building and selective removal of drive-thru lanes back to the existing structural framing. The exterior of the new building was constructed with a combination of stucco, imported Prodema wood paneling, aluminum composite wrapped columns, and black anodized curtainwall with blue opaque spandrel and clear vision glass. Supplementary steel was engineered to provide required support for a rooftop patio area. A limited laydown area for materials challenged the project team, as did maneuvering overhead power lines for the carport installation. The building is the end cap of the retail strip, which required access to the neighboring tenant roof to complete the second level exterior elevation of the property. Scott + Reid worked diligently to negotiate and execute that work with minimal impact to the neighboring tenant business operations.

The interior of the branch is an elegant balance of modern glass and warm wood, accented with 3Form Chroma countertops, silk carpets, and unique architectural lighting. Floating wood ceilings incorporate a subtle TBK logo, while maintaining the clean, luxurious look and feel. A large, curved feature wall in the lobby holds a 20-foot curved video screen. Free-floating monumental stairs with glass side rails were fabricated and assembled in Bulgaria, then completely dismantled and shipped to be reassembled onsite. Scott + Reid communicated tirelessly with the manufacturer, installer, and other subcontractors to ensure this portion of the work was accomplished successfully inside the project schedule.

A unique component of this banking location is an exclusive rooftop patio. Access is granted from a VIP door, up a private staircase, to the second level of the building. Qualifying clientele can utilize the exterior entertainment area, which includes a putting green, custom-made steel gas fire pit, a patio bar, and multiple lounge areas. A Geolam trellis with radiant heaters, misting system, and LED lights allows the space to be utilized year-round. The catering kitchen supports a full food and beverage experience. Additional features include roof top trees and a 20-foot wide floor-to-ceiling Panda bi-folding door that joins the upstairs board room, complete with wine cabinets and a fire place, to the exterior patio space.

Everything about this bank branch is beyond expectation, including the concierge drive-thru lane where you can get a milkshake while you bank.
