Scott + Reid proudly partnered with First United Bank to deliver their flagship headquarters and subsequent expansion at Parkwood II. The project reflects a long-term collaboration focused on creating secure, sophisticated, and highly functional spaces that support the bank’s continued growth.
The original 123,060-square-foot headquarters was designed as a first-generation build that blends tradition with innovation. From planning through completion, our team worked closely with First United Bank to deliver a space tailored to their operational and cultural needs. The building features secure, high-performance elements including bulletproof glass teller fronts, custom Falkbuilt partitions, and a European chestnut staircase that serves as a striking architectural centerpiece. Employee amenities such as a fitness center, café with live moss walls, rooftop patio, and digital broadcast suite were incorporated to promote well-being and collaboration.
As the bank’s team expanded, Scott + Reid returned to complete a second-floor buildout supporting executive operations and a dedicated IT department. This addition includes a large technology lab, flexible training rooms with operable partitions, and integrated lighting, audio, and PTZ camera systems designed to support multi-use training and meeting environments.
A highlight of the project is the fourth floor’s “floating” private offices, featuring 12-foot suspended workspaces beneath 25-foot ceilings. Precision structural coordination and close collaboration with city officials were required to achieve the architectural intent.
From premium finishes to acoustical design and adaptable conference spaces, every detail was executed to create an environment that supports First United Bank’s mission and long-term growth, strengthening a partnership built on trust and performance.
