Scott + Reid completed a 93,035-square-foot retail store conversion in Webster, Texas, transforming an existing furniture store into a big-box home furnishings showroom for one of the world’s largest furniture retailers.
Known for its affordable, modern furniture, Scandinavian-inspired design, and immersive stores featuring fully decorated room displays, the retailer’s format requires careful integration of merchandising, customer experience, technology, and operations.
The buildout included kitchen and home furnishing displays, modular wall systems, integrated lighting, checkout and POS areas, and extensive retailer-provided fixtures. The store also features a commercial-grade kitchen and dining operation serving the retailer’s famous meatballs, along with warehouse, loading dock, private storage, and controlled-access areas supporting back-of-house operations.
Completed on schedule, the project required close coordination between Scott + Reid’s construction team and the retailer’s installation and merchandising teams on a highly compressed schedule. The project reflects Scott + Reid’s experience in retail store conversions, showroom buildouts, merchandising environments, and large-scale customer-facing spaces.
