Hunt Oil Headquarters

PROJECT DETAILS

Hunt Consolidated, Inc.—a leader in energy, real estate, and infrastructure—has long called the iconic 1900 North Akard building home. To reposition the tower from single-tenant to multi-tenant, Hunt entrusted Scott + Reid to lead key capital improvements and renovations.

Building on years of partnership and knowledge of the building, Scott + Reid modernized the eighth and thirteenth floors to serve Hunt and major tenants like JP Morgan’s Dallas headquarters and the Dallas Petroleum Club. These upgrades reinforced the building’s role as a cornerstone of Dallas’s downtown and uptown growth.

A centerpiece of the project was the transformation of the building’s exterior entrance. Amid busy downtown conditions, Scott + Reid completed over 35,000 square feet of renovations, including removal of a dated 20-year-old water feature and surrounding landscape. Collaborating with waterproofing experts, the team replaced the old installation with a vibrant planting area atop the parking garage, complemented by a new water feature, enhanced landscaping, upgraded motor courts, and refreshed entrances—reenergizing this landmark and creating a welcoming gateway for tenants and visitors alike.
