Scott + Reid Continues Commitment to Industry-Leading Safety with ABC STEP Platinum Recognition

Scott + Reid General Contractors has once again earned Platinum level recognition in Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP®), reaffirming the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety on every project.

Established by ABC in 1989, STEP is a nationally recognized safety management system that helps contractors strengthen safety programs, benchmark performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. According to ABC’s 2026 Health and Safety Performance Report, top-performing STEP participants achieve incident rates nearly seven times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics construction industry average while reducing total recordable incident rates by 85%.

“Safety is not just a priority. It is a core value that guides every decision we make,” said Colin Harmon, Director of Safety. “Earning STEP Platinum reflects the commitment of our employees, trade partners, and clients to creating safer jobsites through planning, accountability, and continuous improvement.”

From preconstruction planning and daily safety meetings to ongoing training and field observations, Scott + Reid remains committed to protecting its people and delivering exceptional results for every client.
